Heridas

Alba, a seven-year-old girl, walks along a beach promenade when she disappears. The police search for the little girl, who seems to have been swallowed by the sea. Yolanda, her mother, pleads for her search.

Manuela travels through the night with the girl to Madrid while rehearsing what they will say from now on: that they are mother and daughter, and the little girl's name is Paloma. However, their arrival in Madrid is not going to be easy when Manuela discovers that her wallet with money and cards has been stolen.

Manuela gives up on handing Paloma over to the authorities and considers that asking her family for help might be the best option. Manuela reunites with Héctor, her former boyfriend, only to discover that he is a police officer. Héctor recalls, with some resentment, Manuela's abandonment and her inexplicable distance.

Maite discovers little Paloma in the hotel room, and Manuela lies, claiming to be the daughter of a friend. Everything escalates when Manuela receives a court summons to testify. She has to leave the little girl alone in the hotel room, instructing her not to move. However, her concern rises when she returns to the room and the little girl is not there. Where could she be?

After admitting to her family that Paloma is her daughter, Manuela continues to lie to them, claiming not to know who the father is. This argument increases suspicion among the León family: What if it's Héctor? He had a relationship with Manuela around the same time the little girl was born.

Manuela reveals to Olga that she has just found her real mother. Why have they lied to her all this time? What are they trying to hide from her? And at night, Olga confronts her husband about something that happened in the past, something for which he is responsible. What truth are they referring to? At the police station, Héctor reads the police report about Manuela.

Paloma has just answered the phone call from her mother. Manuela arrives just in time to hang up the phone, but enough time has passed for Yolanda to recognize her daughter's voice. Maite puts the pieces together: Paloma is the little girl who fell into the sea. Manuela's family confronts her, demanding explanations. Why has she kidnapped a minor?

Manuela has become a fugitive, escaping from the police with little Alba. Furthermore, she is in a serious predicament with Fabio lying unconscious on the ground. Manuela and Rocío put him in the car and drive away, leaving Fabio's mobile phone behind. The police find the phone and Yolanda's message. Where is Fabio? What has happened to him?

Héctor calls the León's house asking for Manuela, but no one seems to know where they are. Meanwhile, Manuela and Rocío get into Fabio's car with the journalist and the little girl to start their escape. They are cornered, and it's their only option left. From outside, Yolanda spies on them, knowing that Manuela has her daughter and she needs to get her back.

Manuela, Rocío, Fabio, and little Paloma manage to pass through the police checkpoint and reach the southern town of Tarifa, taking refuge in a house where they can see Africa across the sea. It's the place that will allow them to be free, but they still have to cross the ocean, and Héctor is getting closer. Will they succeed?

Manuela, Rocío, and Fabio have been arrested. Héctor didn't listen to the pleas of little Paloma, who begged him not to separate her from her true mother. The police officer is aware of the strong bond that has formed between them. Once at the police station, Yolanda requests to see her daughter one last time. Alba, with a guilt-laden gaze, rejects her biological mother.

Manuela has been released from prison, although Paloma now lives with Yolanda and Lucho. Manuela fears that the little girl will forget about her and doesn't hesitate to visit her at school, even from a distance. But Lucho and Yolanda discover her. Why is she there? Is she trying to take her daughter away again?

After Lucho's departure, Manuela reproaches Yolanda for not protecting the little girl properly. She should have notified the police. Lucho is desperate; he needs to continue with his business. He searches for the hidden merchandise and gets into a fight where he kills a man and gets injured.
