Expedition From Hell: The Lost Tapes

Self-styled survivalist and demolition expert Mickey Grosman leads a team of amateur explorers deep into the Amazon on a chaotic, death-defying quest to cross the South American continent -- and it'll be a miracle if anyone makes it out alive.

Mickey fires one of the team's only experienced members before enlisting a local guide to lead them through a treacherous desert. When the team gets lost and runs out of water, things spiral out of control, leaving one team member on the brink of death.

A perilous bridge crossing exposes how far Mickey is willing to go for good film footage before the team heads deep into the Eastern Andes. Mickey claims to have sent a team member who broke down back to civilization, but no one's seen or heard from him.

Mickey loses his grip on the expedition when a spear-wielding indigenous tribe kidnaps them. He replaces his lead guide with an untrained woman who accuses him of having a God complex. The team stumbles into a strange community willing to prove her right.

A near-deadly case of dengue fever almost stops Mickey before he's arrested at gunpoint and imprisoned in Brazil. Three months of missing footage leads to questions about his escape and the expedition's end. Did covert operatives help Mickey to finish it?
