Britains Secret Islands

In the first episode of Britain's Secret Islands, we journey to the Farne Islands, home to immerse numbers of seals and seabirds, early Christian communities and the first attack by terrifying Viking raiders.

The second episode of Britain's Secret Islands opens at the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. We visit the 5,000-year-old standing stones of Callanish, traditional Scottish blackhouses, highland cattle and cut peat with a modern crofter.

At Rathlin Island, the third episode of Britain's Secret Islands visits a neolithic stone tool factory, a unique 'upside-down' lighthouse and a WW2 shipwreck. On the Isle of Man, we discover ancient megaliths, a system of parliament founded by the Vikings, tailless Manx cats and an ancient Celtic ceremony.

The final part of Britain's Secret Islands starts in the Isles of Scilly, strewn with shipwrecks, ancient ruins and dramatic fortifications. Known as 'Britain's subtropical secret', dazzling white beaches, azure waters, subtropical plants and exotic wildlife challenge stereotypes of the UK.
