Kenny G's triumphant appearances at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1987 & 1988 showcased the saxophonist at the height of his breakthrough success. As he took to the stage for his Montreux debut on 18 July 1987, his latest album 'Duotones' had just reached #6 on the Billboard 200 & its standout composition 'Songbird' had soared to #4 in that week's U.S. singles chart.
