Based on the story of the Swedish ambassador Harald Edelstam and his fight to help refugees in Chile at the time of the military coup in 1973. During the terror that follows Edelstam struggles for humanity, justice and decency. An intense love story between the activist Consuela and Edelstam is developed. Edelstam has to make up his mind about love among all his women - to one woman.
