Chicago's Major Crimes Unit, led by no-nonsense Lt. Mike Torello, suspects upstart mobster Ray Luca may be the mastermind behind a string of robberies. Meanwhile, Torello deals with the idealistic meddling of public defender David Abrams.

While a psychotic killer occupies the MCU's attention, Luca uses the situation to his advantage by pulling off some major heists.
