John Baxter is a freewheeling trader of goods in Africa, with a pet chimpanzee as his only companion. He has one dream: to save enough money to buy a gas station in Detroit. His life changes drastically after meeting the mysterious Madeleine Cooper, a British spy who is running from Robert Preston, a dangerous animal and ivory trafficker.
