Blue Heelers

Tom Croydon is suspended from duty pending a coroner's inquest into a murder he's suspected of commiting, and Mark Jacobs has taken control of the station; Nick Schultz is back helping PJ with the murder investigation, but it seems young Kelly is the only person who truly believes in Tom's innocence

Tom is now definitely a murder suspect, and PJ and Nick must investigate in spite of Tom's unwillingness to cooperate. Only Kelly keeps faith in Tom, despite his rejection of her open displayof trust in him.

Tom is back in charge of the Mt Thomas Police Station and soon makes it clear who is boss. Clearly unhappy with Mark's appointment of his friend as Acting Sergeant in his absence, Tom makes life very difficult for the new recruit.

Amy suspects that the death of a baby, apparently of SIDS, is in fact infanticide. She pursues the case with some aggression in spite of PJ's doubts; Jonesy and Susie find themselves in a bind -quite literally -and new Senior Constable Alex Kirby comes to the rescue.

PJ and Amy comfort a mother and her teenage boy after a vicious home invasion. When the Heelers meet the father Danny O'Keefe, Tom and PJ recognise him as a likely gangster and Tom does not want more trouble in Mt Thomas; Jonesy is involved in a fatal car chase.

While Kelly and Joss are trying to resurrect the Blue Light sports team, they find a kidselling heroin. Tom is convinced Danny O'Keefe is somehow behind it, but his efforts to bring him to justice are frustrated; Meanwhile Joss' brother comes to town and tries to seduce Kelly; and Susie and Alex follow up a report of a teenage girl's abduction.

Alex and Susie suspect a schoolteacher is having an affair with a young schoolboy; Joss returns a drunk man to the wrong address; and Alex gets the idea Jonesy isn't interested in Susie and makes his own play.

Jonesy and Susie are searching for a missing child when they learn a sex offender is on the loose -has he abducted the child?; Kelly is outraged by a shop assistant who is forced to wear a provocative T-shirt and is sexually assaulted by a customer; Amy obviously has history with the homicide detective Garth Henderson, who arrives in town to help with a murder investigation.

PJ, Amy and Garth are investigating the brutal murder of a young woman when a second body is discovered, killed in a similar style -a serial killer is at work in Mt Thomas and the Heelers must move fast before he strikes again.

PJ and Amy find a link between two of the women almost certainly murdered by a serial killer -their psychologist Bill Lapscott, who runs a therapy group for sexual abuse victims. Amy infiltrates the group and is forced to share her own story of sexual abuse. Although she later insists she was acting, Bill has his doubts.

The serial killer is still at large in Mt Thomas, and now it seems a copycat killer has struck. Garth is certain psychologist Bill Lapscott is the killer, and Amy is determined to prove his innocence.

Revelations about Garth's past and his aggressive behaviour towards Amy cause the detectives to suspect he is the serial killer. Investigations continue and then Amy disappears -has she been snatched by the killer?

Susie goes to bat to save the reputation of a man whose depression has driven him to suicide. He is under suspicion of leaving a bomb at the hospital on the day of his death; And encouraged by Alex, Jonesy finally plucks up the courage to ask Susie out, but finds himself unexpectedly disappointed.

A feud involving the son of gangster Danny O'Keefe brings him back to the attention of Tom, who wants him out of Mt Thomas. When a criminal associate of O'Keefe's turns up, Tom can see trouble brewing; Susie saves the life of an elderly accident victim only to be accused stealing her possessions

In the conclusion of the Danny O'Keefe story, Jonesy becomes involved in honour killings after Tom's unsanctioned plan to arrest killers and drug dealers goes badly.

PJ is concerned by Amy's over-reaction when she is confronted by someone from her past. He encourages Amy to face the reason for her behaviour -renewed contact with the family of the uncle who sexually abused her as a child; Mark wilfully heightens his power struggle with Tom.

Amy's painful teenage years resurface as she tries to save two girls from the abuse she believes they're being subjected to; Jonesy finds a simple way to Susie's affections; Tom is reunitedwith his difficult daughter Anna; and the power struggle between Tom and Mark escalates.

Amy pursues the man she knows abused her as a child, but falters and doubts her memory when face to face with him. The final confrontation withthe truth reveals the delusion wrought by time on the memory for both Amy and her uncle; investigating clients of a speed dating agency, Jonesy and Susie find themselves revealing what they are looking for in a partner to everyone but each other.

Tom faces the spectre of Barry Baxter, the man who killed his wife, almost destroying everything Tom believed in. Escaping from court on the first day of his trial, Baxter closes in on Mt Thomas causing Tom to fear for the safety of his grandchildren; Jonesy gallantly, and finally, proposes to Susie.

Tom's grandchildren are kidnapped by Barry Baxter and he receives taunting emails depicting the children being buried alive in a large wooden box. Baxter sets up an armed siege at the Imperial Hotel and wants to negotiate with Tom

Jonesy is dismayed when Susie hits it off with a handsome victim of a car theft racket the Heelers are trying to crack. Feeling rejected by Susie, foolhardy Jonesy risks his life in a ute surfing competition in an attempt to salvage the lives of a young man and his pregnant sister; Joss uses his BMW as bait for car thieves, but loses it another way

Alex and Jonesy are called to a private party and find illegal drugs and Susie amongst the guests; the unidentifiable and unconscious driver of a ram raiding 4WD is dangerously mysterious; and Kelly and Joss meet a man who is several people at once

Joss and Kelly's birthday celebrations are soured when Kelly's best friend is found dead from a drug overdose. Joss' loyalties are pulled when his good mate becomes a prime suspect

A horror road smash takes the lies of three teenagers. Amy works against the emotional reactions of the town to fairly investigate her cousin Brendan Maguire, the driver of the trick which appears to have caused the deaths; Jonesy is convinced Susie's new boyfriend is a law breaker, but Susie solves that problem herself.

Alex tries to reconcile Kelly with the man who murdered his father 15 years ago. He finds himself ostracised by his workmates, and left alone in a darkened warehouse with a gun at the back of his head and no partner to back him up; Mark becomes increasingly isolated at work, his daughter is involved in an emotionally driven theft.
