Salamander

In Dutch with English subtitles. When a professional criminal gang tunnels into a bank in and steals the documents and secrets of the most powerful people in Belgium, it looks to be the greatest scandal in modern Belgian history. The court and 66 safe owners cover up the robbery, until an insignificant Brussels detective gets tipped off.

In Dutch with English subtitles. Detective Paul Gerardi's house is being watched and he wonders if he's next. His wife Sarah and daughter Sophie are scared to death, and Paul discovers the secret of the safe burglary and the names of the 66 victims.

In Dutch with English subtitles. Paul's former boss, ex-chief of police, provides him with a hiding place in the monastery that he had retired to for mysterious reasons, but steadfastly refuses to help Paul beyond that.

In Dutch with English subtitles. The 66 victims of the break-in receive envelopes with copies of the sensitive secrets they kept in their safes. The leaders of the powerful group, Salamander, realize that someone is trying to break up their group.

In Dutch with English subtitles. The Procurator-General, one of the leaders of Salamander, convinces Paul to work for him and track down those responsible for the break-in. Paul makes progress but his marriage suffers serious blows as a result.

In Dutch with English subtitles. Paul discovers that Salamander saved a member of the royal family from a sordid scandal. It also becomes clear that the man behind the break-in bears the burden of a tragic past that goes back to WWII.

In Dutch with English subtitles. Paul recklessly throws himself into the hunt for Salamander. Sofie is sent to a boarding school and Paul sides with the Procurator-General, who now also wants to shake off his own Salamander past.

In Dutch with English subtitles. Incriminating material goes out to all 66 members of Salamander, which results in resignations, disappearances and suicides. A dark crisis threatens the state.

In Dutch with English subtitles. The royal palace sees the crisis getting out of hand and wants to make an example of someone, so Paul loses his protector. Continuing without protection, he starts to search for the Salamander resistance mission in military records, but all related documents have disappeared.

In Dutch with English subtitles. Paul's protector from within Salamander is outlawed and hunted down mercilessly. He still manages to pass on essential information about the WWII origins of Salamander.

In Dutch with English subtitles. Unsuspectingly, Paul finds himself staying at the home of the man who organized the break-in at the Brussels bank. While there, he discovers photos of the WWII resistance group that lies at the heart of the origin of the Salamander group.

In Dutch with English subtitles. The men behind the break-in now know Paul's identity. Betrayals and motives come to light, and Paul and the man behind the initial conspiracy fight for their lives.
