The Mal-Être, a strange affliction transforming the inhabitants of the kingdom into terrifying creatures. Ravaged by the disease, they begged their king to save them, but he abandoned them. A legend speaks of "The Chosen One," with a flaming head, who will slay the sovereign and save the land from the plague.

To escape their assailants, Laure and Flame Head were forced, much to their dismay, to dive into the sewers where those infected by the Mal-Être lurk. There, they encounter Paulo.

Thanks to Paulo, the two companions finally made it back to the surface and continue their relentless search for the Sword of Truth. Meanwhile, the Demon King summons his valiant knights, the King's Hand, and commands them to hunt down his eternal foe.

Although the knights of the King's Hand managed to imprison Flame Head in an impenetrable sealed shell, Laure narrowly escaped, rescuing her companion in the process. However, the Guardian of Truth is increasingly consumed by the Mal-Être-until she encounters a mysterious alchemist...

With Laure saved and Flame Head freed, the two companions set out to hunt down the King's Fingers and eliminate them. The first on their list is none other than Annulum, the tax collector, who offers them a rather unusual challenge.

With Annulum defeated, our two heroes now head toward the castle of Indexa, the guardian of justice. But soon, they find themselves facing a strange phenomenon...

Having managed to escape the dream and the time loop through Indexa, Laure and Flamehead make their way to the fortress of Thumb, the coin minter. While they expect to face a combative adversary, he unexpectedly suggests they begin therapy

With Thumb defeated, Flamehead must get his hands on the Sword of Truth, which is displayed within the Institute of the Guardians of Truth. Much to Laure's dismay, the two adventurers infiltrate the institute to steal it.

Despite Laure having lied to him, Flamehead heads to the king's castle to free her. There, Majorum, the guardian of security, and the kingdom's sovereign await him, ready for an epic battle.

It is time for our two heroes to uncover the dark tragedy behind the Malaise. Will Laure and Flamehead be able to face and accept this terrible truth?
