After the school trip is canceled, Alba discovers that some of her classmates are planning a road trip behind their parents' backs -- and sets out to get a spot in their van.

Just as Alba begins to find her place on the trip -- and with her new group of friends -- troubles from home start calling her back.

After barely making it out of their problematic rental home, the group is forced to return when they realize one of their own is missing. Then, as the friends consider calling off the trip, Alba attempts to change their minds.

The friends' plan to increase their trip funds bides them more time -- and reveals a surprising connection for Alba. But as they ride the resulting high, a phone call causes reality to come crashing back.
