Movin' to the Country

In the Orana region of central west NSW, Craig sets off to Nyngan, to meet two former lawyers who are running a national legal enterprise from home, whilst inventing a brand new species of cow. Halina heads to Dubbo, where an enterprising couple have applied local Indigenous knowledge to turn biodiversity problem into a small local cosmetics business. Kristy hits up the foodie mecca of Mudgee.

The team is in south-east Tasmania where Halina checks out the sublime 3 Capes Walk before heading to Birch's Bay to catch up with a family producing a dizzying variety of sheep's milk products.. In Mt Rumney, Craig discovers how a series of accidents led a disused rail tunnel being turned into a mushroom farm. And in Taroona Kristy finds a family dedicated to creating locally made fashion.

Kristy starts off in the pastures of Nulla Vale, meeting a refugee who overcame a string of setbacks to turn previously neglected lamb belly into a new range of smallgoods. On a flower farm Halina meets a team finding ways to do fun things with rose petals; and Craig travels around the gold rush towns where a group of migrant women are creating vibrant new lives for themselves.

The team heads to the Top End where local Territorians are unlocking the potential of the Kakadu plum for food and as a pathway to employment for Indigenous youth. In Darwin Halina investigates an astonishing bit of kit, a super-fast 3D printer that can magic up metal parts in minutes, and Craig rides along with an innovative tour company, providing a much-needed Indigenous perspective of culture.

On South Australia's glorious Limestone Coast, Craig heads to a non-conformist winery in Cape Jaffa on the path to producing sustainable, single origin wine, beer and spirits. In Robe, Kristy meets a couple who traded in a life on luxury yachts to hang around with camels in an unconventional dairy, while Halina explores a clever approach to tackling the scourge of plastic waste.

Halina jumps on a 100-year-old ketch at Mooloolaba to join an Indigenous-owned eco tour company sharing a profound connection between their ancient culture and the sea. Kristy meets two entrepreneurs doing clever things with women's motorcycle gear and mastectomy clothing. In Bundaberg, Craig gets into a seafood smokery, combining German family tradition with the best of modern Queensland.
