Julián spends his time making videos with his best friend Cruz. One day, his phone gets stolen, so he dusts off his deceased father's old phone, which has a supernatural quality: it can record ghosts.

Julián decides to take advantage of his discovery and, along with his friend Cruz, creates a paranormal video channel. He records his deceased grandmother, but the video gets very few views, and he's accused of it being fake.

In the cemetery, Cruz and Julián recover from the fright and approach Rufina, who informs them that Samay has already been released. Unable to access the singer, Julián and Cruz decide to use Rufina for their videos.

Julian presents to his followers his upcoming video: a date between a young deceased girl and Alex, a guy who is unaware of Rufina's deceased status and believes it's just another regular encounter from a dating app.

After the accident, Alex leaves with a neck brace and bandages from Julián's house. Cruz demands that Julián gets rid of the intermediary cell phone since it's dangerous. Julián refuses, and they end up fighting.

Julián films new ghost videos, calling himself "The Intermediary." He is hypnotized by his growing fame as followers continue to increase.

Julián is slowly transforming into a ghost. He wants to get rid of the intermediary cell phone, but soon discovers it's more complicated than he thought. The dead demand their moments of fame.

Cruz manages to awaken Julián, but the process of becoming a ghost is highly advanced. Cruz looks for information in books, but she doesn't know how to help him. When she tries to throw the cell phone out the window, Julián objects.

Julian and Cruz must embark on the adventure of finding "El Espanto." Cruz goes to her house to fetch tools for the adventure, but when she asks for help from her grandfather's ghost, he rejects her for being a sellout and capitalist.

Father and son have the conversation that remained unfinished between them. Julián discovers that his father tried to communicate with him many times over the years. They reconcile and realize that they are not so different after all.
