Dirt Game

Forming a crisis-team, including a female geologist, Megan, a cynical engineer, Max, a wary ex- union rep, Shane, and an environmentalist, Caz, Brian resolves a strike over a nickel-pit death after learning that his wife, Tess, will not join him and that someone is sabotaging his operation from within Albion's UK Board.

With the nickel mine back on track, Brian finds that CCR's revived gold mine is threatened when concerns are raised about a local creek. With CCR's Hong Kong bank refusing to extend its credit, a solution devised by Caz and Max nearly collapses when bones are found in an old mineshaft.

A near accident at an ageing copper smelter highlights the need to find more ore to justify its refurbishment. Visiting her survey site, Megan and Brian are forced spend a night in the desert when their four-wheel-drive rolls.

At a mining forum, attended by his wife and father-in-law, Brian finds himself called away to deal with the effect of a new gas-well on the local indigenous community.

Brian is called back to Australia from London, amidst a hostile foreign take-over threat to the Albion group, after Caz becomes potentially trapped underground. As Megan - who has indicated a wish to leave CCR - supervises Max and Shane's efforts to resolve the seemingly routine problem, Caz finds herself increasingly drawn to Shane.

While Brian deals with the take-over and its implications for CCR, Megan, Max, Shane and Caz seek to avert a threat to the Hong Kong bank's opening of the gold mine. Meanwhile, Megan learns that she might have found a mineral deposit after all.
