Sam Fox: Extreme Adventures

Sam is in his beachside hometown when a visiting pop star, Holly, decides to take a swim – during box jellyfish season – and appears to be in distress. Sam, already running late for a dive exam with Josie, leaps into the ocean to save Holly and before they know it a strong current has dragged them out into open water.

Sam and Rikki are in the Amazon on a rare-orchid hunt with Brazilian orchid expert, Claudio. But Sam and Rikki's boat capsizes, separating them from Claudio, and spilling them into piranha infested waters.

While trekking on Indonesia's Komodo Island, Rikki goes off-track to take a pee – and falls down an embankment. Sam goes looking for him and falls down the slope too. When a komodo dragon appears at the top, Sam and Rikki are forced to go through unknown country to avoid it. They climb up a tree, but the dragon climbs after them and bites Rikki on the ankle.

In the Peruvian jungle, Sam, Rikki and Harry are tagging along with Kingston and local ranger Miguel, who's attempting to trap a dangerous rouge jaguar. Sam is very disappointed when he learns that Rikki, Harry and he must stay in safety at a rough ranger's hut while Kingston and Miguel wait for the jaguar in a hide.

An approaching cyclone causes school to be closed early, so Sam, Rikki, April, Harry and Jordan go to the Fox house to ride it out. The Fox parents are away and Nathan is stuck up the coast unable to get home in time before the storm hits. Sam's in charge. As Sam organises the cyclone-proofing of the house, he realises Jordan is not with them.

Sam and Nathan are on a guided tour with Nathan's friend Raj to see the elusive and endangered Bengal tiger in a remote reserve. They cross a rope suspension bridge and find some tiger footprints on the track. While Raj heads off to investigate, an earthquake hits, separating him from Sam and Nathan.

Sam, Rikki and Nathan go caving in the Australian outback and come across a bed of scorpions in an underground cave. But Nathan's leg gets trapped when a cave-in occurs, which also crushes their satellite phone. Nathan's in a bad way and Sam is his only hope.

Sam and Rikki fly into a remote airstrip in Tanzania, on their way to give a presentation on the Tasmanian Devil at a Wildlife Youth League conference. They land and meet up with their friend Emma, another participant. She tells them there's been a transport mix up and the trio are going to have to wait several hours for their ride.

Sam and April visit a dormant volcano in Borneo with Mayang, an old childhood friend of Sam's. Sam and Mayang race to the top, but on the way, Mayang falls and injures himself. The volcano suddenly erupts and lava begins spewing everywhere. Sam and April try to take Mayang back to the jeep, only to find that lava has cut off the access road.

Sam and Josie go to Kenya to search for the mythical Jumbo Jumbo flower with Uncle Shaun, which they hope to find and study as a part of a school project. Josie is very keen to excel but Sam isn't all that focused on botanical stuff.

Sam and Rikki are on a trip to the Rocky Mountains with Harry and Jordan's scout troupe and his mum, Laura, when their bus crashes down a canyon. Everyone escapes but some members of the group are injured. Sam and Rikki set off back along the forest road to where they can get mobile phone reception and call for help.

The Fox family and Rikki are camping in the Egyptian desert with Emma. During a camel ride, a sandstorm separates Emma from the group, and Sam goes after her. Sam finds Emma but now they have both lost their camels. As they're both choking in a wall of dust they take shelter in an ancient well, but become trapped when the rope ladder breaks.

In the bayou of Louisiana, Sam and Rikki go fishing with a family friend, Rene. As Rene guides them through the swamp, he warns them about the Loup Garou (werewolves with glowing red eyes). They spot an endangered alligator snapping turtle in the water, and Rene asks the boys to keep an eye on it while he goes to get some tagging equipment.

Sam takes Harry out zip-lining on Nathan's new Flying Fox to practice their skills ahead of their upcoming trip to New Zealand. A zip-line malfunction forces Sam and Harry to clamber off the equipment onto a nearby tree, where Harry is bitten by a funnel web spider. Completely alone, they head for the road.

On cultural exchange in India for the Holi Festival of Colours, Sam, Rikki and Emma are learning to dance Bollywood style for tomorrow's big performance with the help of Indian student Nisha.

Sam, Rikki and Josie are on a paddle boarding trip to the Great Australian Bight with Nathan, who's scouting new dive sites. Rikki panics when he sees a fin cut through the water and assumes it's a great white shark – but it's just a dolphin.

Sam and Rikki's hike to see mountain gorillas in Uganda is derailed when Rikki's overstuffed backpack causes him to tumble down the mountain. Sam finds him but they become lost when a dense mist rolls in. Now also separated from their guide, Cooper, they decide to head downhill and find their way back to camp.

On a mountain biking trip with Josie and Rikki in Tasmania, Sam accidentally rides off a cliff and lands on a ledge, and his bike crashes to the bottom of a gully. Sam discovers a cave in the cliff face and clambers into it. Rikki volunteers to go down and help Sam. In the cave, Sam and Rikki come across an injured Tasmanian Devil and must get it to safety.

Sam, Rikki, Emma and Laura are trekking in Norway to see the spectacular Northern Lights. After Sam and Rikki go back to the cabin to get Rikki's herrings, they get stuck in a windy storm.

Sam is at home recovering from malaria, and is experiencing occasional fever-fuelled hallucinations. Laura leaves to pick Kingston up from the airport, so Rikki comes over to look after Sam, but soon heads off to buy chicken soup ingredients. Sam finds a baby crocodile in the family room, and assumes it's a hallucination until it nips him on the finger.

Sam, Josie and Nathan are in the Mexican desert to check out caves for Nathan's adventure tour company when an earthquake occurs and Nathan suffers a suspected rattlesnake bite.

Camping in the Northern Australian tropics, Sam, Rikki and Josie come across some cute cassowary chicks – and their angry, full-grown mother. On the run from the cassowary, the trio notice that some old oil drums have rolled into the river.

In the jungle of Thailand, Sam and Rikki chase after a group of Langur monkeys after they steal Rikki's phone. When they find them, the monkeys pelt the boys with coconuts and durian, then steal Sam's wristcam. Sam and Rikki decide to cut their losses and head back to the cave and Laura, but they're deep in the jungle now – and lost.

Sam and Rikki are in Alaska for a wilderness adventure, led by their Native Alaskan guide, Jacob. On the way to the ice-fishing hut, a half-dog, half-wolf hybrid confronts them. The boys manage to outrun the hybrid and lose Rikki's mobile in the process – but Rikki reveals he's got a back-up phone.

Sam, Nathan and Rikki are hiking in a Pacific Northwest state pine forest when they come across Parker – an injured man who Sam thinks has fallen off his horse, the name of which Parker keeps repeating: Black Prince. Sam goes looking for the horse while Nathan and Rikki look after Parker. Out in the forest, Sam falls into a covered trapping pit and is sprayed by a skunk.
