Summer 2019 American Road Trip

The cross-country road trip begins. We visit Fort De Soto, in St. Pete Beach, on the gulf coast of Florida. Also, Cedar Key and Suwanee River State Park.

Departing Suwanee River State park, we drive by Taylor county, Florida scouting a homesteading location. We then continue west on the Florida Panhandle towards Pensacola. We stay at Big Lagoon State Park and visit Flora-Bama Bar, on the Florida-Alabama state line. On the next day we change the trailer tires in Mississippi, spend the night at a casino in Louisiana and eventually arrive in Texas.

We spend two days exploring Houston, Texas. After enjoying the amenities at San Jacinto Riverfront RV Resort, we visit the San Jacinto Monument and the Kemah Boardwalk. We spend the next day walking around downtown, and spend most of our departure day visiting the Space Center, thus saving the best for last.

We spend an afternoon in San Antonio, Texas. Then Fredericksburg, a brewery and a winery in Hill Country, and delicious barbecue as we make our way towards Austin.

We explore Austin, the capital of Texas. We see the bats on Congress Avenue bridge, we walk around downtown, see the Capitol Building, a famous historic hotel, and the Oasis on Lake Travis, among other things.

We spend some time in New Braunfels, as we make our way back to San Antonio for the RV Caravan With Us rally.

I return to San Antonio to attend and host the "RV Caravan With Us" Rally. We visit the San Antonio Missions, Historic Menger Hotel, the Observation Deck at the Tower of the Americas, and take the mandatory cruise on the Riverwalk.

We drive from San Antonio to Seminole Canyon State Park, near Del Rio, Texas and hike the canyon rim trail all the way to the Rio Grande. The onto New Mexico.

We visit Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Roswell, New Mexico, and stay at Bottomless Lakes State Park

We explore some of the many attractions in the Taos area, including Taos Pueblo, the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, Black Rock Hot Springs, the Earthship Community, Historic Downtown and the Plaza Farmers Market.

After a wonderful time in New Mexico, we enter Colorado. I visit Durango, briefly, and after an unpleasant experience at the campground, I continue north towards Silverton and Ouray "The Switzerland of America". We end the day as we arrive at the Valley of the Gods, in Utah.

I finally realize my dream of camping in the Valley of the Gods, Utah. I also visit Goosenecks State Park, Mexican Hat, Monument Valley, and Lees Ferry.

I finally get to see the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and it does not disappoint. Exploring the Grand Canyon Lodge and the several viewpoints.

We spend several days in Las Vegas for celebrating Independence Day

I spend a week in Southern California, attending VidCon, the largest online video conference in the world. While we're there we're going to explore the area, visiting Laguna Beach, Crystal Cove State Park, Long Beach and even an unplanned visit to Disneyland.

After reaching the southwesternmost point in the contiguous United States, by the Mexican border, we explore Old Town, Cabrillo National Monuments and Sunset Cliffs, in San Diego

Driving on the Eastern Sierra Scenic Byway, we camp near Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the Contiguous United States. The explore the Alabama Hills, hike to Mobius Arch, and Visit Manzanar National Historic Site.

Using Bishop, California as a home base we, explore several lakes in the Sierra Nevada, including Lake Sabrina and Convict Lake.

After an overview of the Valley on my first day, I decide to hike Upper Yosemite Falls, and Yosemite Point. Definitely one of my top 10 destinations in the USA.

A desperate search for reliable internet, a dead RV battery, a flat tire, a bumpy dirt road, and some of the most beautiful landscapes the Sierra Nevada has to offer.

While staying in Carson City for scheduled maintenance and work, we drive around Lake Tahoe, see Nevada's Capitol and drive to Petaluma for a viewer meetup.

We drive California's North Coast all the way from the Golden Gate Bridge to the beginning of the Lost Coast and the Redwood Forest.

We Explore the Avenue of the Giants, Redwoods National Park, and the Trees of Mystery, as we make our way to the Oregon coast.

We drive the entire Oregon Coast, from the California border to the Columbia River. Two lighthouses, sand dune, sea lions, idyllic beaches, and the famous city of Astoria are among the highlights.
