Rocka-Bye Island

Playing with Mr O'Dear's old kayak is great fun for most of the kids, but Lee's too "teensy" to sit in it. The group want to take the kayak to the water, and Whale Cove is chosen as the best spot to try it out.

After hurting his leg playing football, Conor has to use a crutch and isn't able to walk very far. This gets the children thinking about how different animals get around.

At the school, the group are getting ready to go for a picnic. While Ruari gets their lunches ready, Lee and Conor argue over who is getting more bananas and who's getting less. The children learn how to tell which pile has more and which has less.

After spending the morning pretending to build a skyscraper, the children decide to go on a hike to Inis Spraoi's oldest building. It's the perfect place to play pretend. They imagine they're cowboys, but Ciaran doesn't understand the game.

The class are being measured by Mr O'Dear to see how much they've grown. They're all getting bigger, but their poor plant isn't growing. Together the children come up with a plan - they'll visit King Spud's farm to see if he knows what's wrong with it.

Conor has lost his Captain Smelly doll. He soon turns up inside Conor's hood. The group head off on a hike to the Foggy Isthmus. It's so foggy the group can't even see each other properly, and Conor soon realizes he's lost Captain Smelly - again!

After building a robot friend for Ruari out of cardboard, the children feel like making things out of clay like you find at Otter creek. At the creek they get a little help from Orin the Otter, who teaches them about finding the best clay to sculpt with.

The kids decide to stay inside for the day and play with the new art supplies. At first they're too afraid to start painting in case they make mistakes. It takes a visit from Painted Boy to show them they shouldn't be scared to paint what they feel.

It's lunchtime at the school and some of the children don't want to finish their vegetables. They've left their brussel sprouts, peas and carrots behind. The upset veggies sing a song about how they make you grow healthy and strong but Brigid, Lee, Conor and Ciaran still aren't convinced.

It's a warm day and Ruari's been baking so all the windows are open in the Schoolhouse. The children notice a funny smell, which seems to be coming from King Spud's Farm, and they go off to investigate. They're sure that Cecil pig must be the source of the funny smell, but he insists that pigs are very clean animals.

The children are playing their favourite musical instruments. After some practice, they're all excited to go on a musical parade to Seagull Rock - everyone except poor Roisin. She can't choose an instrument she likes, and her singing makes the other children laugh.

While tidying the school the children discover Conor has taken Ruari's plate and Brigid's favourite shell. More things start to go missing. Conor learns it's not nice to take things without asking.

The children hear a strange noise outside. It's the call of the corncrake, a shy bird that visits the island in springtime. The kids learn about camouflage, which birds and animals use to blend into the background.

Ciaran is terrified by a little spider. Mr O'Dear comes to the rescue and scoops the spider up in a tin. The kids are impressed with his braver. Mammy O'Dear sings a song about how it's ok to be afraid, but you shouldn't let it spoil your fun.

The kids decide to go out and take some pictures from the top of Skipper's lighthouse. They all want to see the view but they only have one camera, one telescope and one pair of binoculars. The kids learn to share things with others.

The group decides to go the Waterfall Glenn that day where they meet Sully the Falcon who's got a problem, he's forgotten how to fly. The kids help Sully remember through a song about not giving up.

Roisin boasts that she never brushes her teeth. Although the other children try to explain the importance of keeping your teeth clean, Roisin just doesn't get it. They hike to Whale Cove where they meet Finn, a lonely whale with a bad case of bad breath.

Conor is unable to beat the drum in time with the rest of the band. He's got no natural rhythm. Band practice over, Mr O'Dear suggests a nature walk in the Pine Forest. There the children discover the many natural rhythms of nature.

The children are excited because the sea level was nearly up as high as the dock. Ruari explains that this is because the moon pulls the sea up even higher at high tide.After playing on the beach, they find themselves cut off by the swiftly incoming tide.

The group hike out to Puffin Point where they meet the Puffin Patricia. She impersonates Mr O'Dear and gets a big laugh from the kids. Encouraged by the attention, she mimics Roisin too, ignoring Mr O'Dear's requests to cease her antics.

Lee and Ciaran are putting on a show for the others, but Conor can't seem to stop interrupting. The class goes searching for the Hush A Bye bird. But you have to be quiet to find them. Conor learns it's important not to interrupt.

Playing with an old kayak is great fun for most of the kids, but Lee's too small to sit in it. At the cove they come across Finn Whale, who's crying because he's too big for his new tricycle. Finn and Lee soon learn that their size can come in handy.

Sean isn't having a very good morning at the school - no one wants to share their toys with him. Tired of playing inside, the children decide to go out and take some pictures of the island from the top of Skipper's lighthouse.

After spending the morning pretending to build a skyscraper, the children decide to go on a hike to Inis Spraoi's oldest building, the mound at Two-Knocks.
