Deadly Women

Like a rogue computer virus, obsessions corrupt the thought processes of an otherwise healthy brain. Deciphering what causes minds to corkscrew out of control is the complex work of the criminal profiler. Obsessions can take many forms: beauty, devotion, ego and power.

Known as "Black Widows", these women kill their spouses, lovers and children for profit. Other killers reach beyond the web of family. Murder for them becomes a business. In the world of commerce they would otherwise be heralded as successful entrepreneurs. Except their trade is murder; their profits: blood money.

Crimes of revenge are usually single acts of passion. A brew of hatred and restitution boils over in a manic moment of fury. Once caught, revenge killers usually display remorse and atonement. But sometimes the female killer is driven by a deeper, smoldering anger. An anger that relentlessly gnaws at her conscience. They kill and kill again. "Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn."
