The Heist

In the sleepy North Yorkshire town of Thirsk, 10 ordinary, law-abiding citizens come together to commit an extraordinary crime. Planning and executing an audacious heist in broad daylight to steal 250,000 pounds in cash. Can this unlikely criminal gang pull it off?

Feeling safe and wanting to offload some loot, the thieves all start splashing their cash on anything from TVs to sheep and pedigree puppies. After some ingenious detective work which identifies a phone used at both the heist and the slaughter - where the stolen cash was divided - the Detectives soon have their first suspect in their sights.

Looking for fresh leads, Sue Hill launches a media campaign about the heist, but thieves Jessica Bell and her sister Laura Hoyland launch a rival 'White Horse Bandit' plan to bring the local community onside. The Detectives have the last laugh, as one of our thieves is brought in after an unusual purchase using 90 pound coins.

The investigation gathers pace when a specialised police search team make a damning discovery at the remote cottage of young sheep farmers Jonny Easton and Emma Webster, and the Guv and Deputy Ray Howard attempt to crack their resolve in the pressure-cooker environment of the interview room.

It's been over a week since the heist and six thieves still remain at large. With the end of the investigation fast approaching, the pressure is on for the detectives to find enough evidence to charge the remaining White Horse Bandits.

As the investigation reaches its end, Sue Hill decides to go public with the identities of the suspects and an offer of a reward for information on their whereabouts. To keep their 25,000-pound share of the heist, each thief must launder their dirty loot for clean money to avoid being arrested and charged by the detectives.
