Joy disappears from boarding school and a new American girl, Nina, takes her place. Joy's roommate, Patricia is outraged and thinks Nina has something to do with it and tries to find out what happened.

New girl Nina meets an addled old woman who tells her "Beware the Black Bird" and gives her an antique locket.

Whilst hiding from Victor, Nina accidentally opens a secret panel in the attic with her pendant and sees a pair of eyes looking out at her!/Patricia persuades Mara to help her steal Joy's file from Mr Sweet's office

Patricia insists that new girl Nina be initiated into the house of Anubis... her first mission to steal Victor's spare key to the attic stairs. Meanwhile Amber is jealous that Mick is asking Mara for help with his schoolwork.

Patricia reports Joy as a missing person to the police. /After looking up the hieroglyphic symbols from the back of the old painting, Fabian and Nina manage to crack the code leading them to the staircase where they find the next clue.

The kids get a new history/drama teacher and Amber resolves to make Mick jealous by kissing Alfie.

When Patricia locks Nina in the attic during her initiation, Nina finds a secret attic room.

Victor rigs a feather in the attic door and when Nina and Fabian sneak up and find some strange wax cylinders, Victor knows that someone has been up there. Amber blows up with jealousy over Mara and Mick's friendship.

Nina and Fabian sneak back into the attic to listen to the cylinders but it makes a loud screeching sound and they have to abandon their plans. Patricia sees someone hanging around on the school grounds and is freaked out, thinking it's a ghost.

Fabian volunteers to go into the forbidden attic with Nina.

Victor returns the bags that the staff confiscated but Joy's file is gone. Patricia goes to the police to report Joy's disappearance. Meanwhile Mick attacks Alfie on the soccer field because he's jealous about Amber.

Mick finds out Mara cheated for him and falls out with her. Amber discovers a secret message written behind the wallpaper./Amber and Nina go to the old people's home to visit Sarah and confirm that she is the girl from the recordings.

Patricia meets her "ghost" again in the woods, but this time they talk and he tells her he is actually a private investigator and he'll help her find Joy. /Patricia meets with Rufus in the woods to discuss his plans for finding Joy.

Fabian and Nina find a key hidden in a staircase and wonder what it opens. Mick and Amber patch things up after Jerome comes clean about misleading Mick about Alfie and Amber's laundry-room tryst.

Patricia spots Nina's necklace and recognizes it as the Eye of Horus. The gang opens the next puzzle piece to reveal the second riddle./The teachers confiscate Patricia's phone and find out she's been in contact with Rufus Zeno.

Patricia snoops in Nina's things and gets offended when she reads about herself in Nina's journal. Nina & Fabian sneak out of Mick & Amber's party to continue exploring the attic hoping to discover what the new key will unlock.

Victor discovers the stolen key to the attic on the floor of his office and demands that whoever returned it come forward. In a show of solidarity, everyone admits that they returned it.

Amber takes the day off school to look after it but it disappears when she's asleep./The gang lets Patricia in on the secret, and debates the possibility that Victor might be drinking an elixir of life.

Jerome catches Mara helping Mick by cheating for him on a French test, he blackmails her into doing chores for him. Meanwhile Fabian & Nina try to listen to the Edison cylinders that they found and Patricia, Alfie & Jerome hold a séance.

With Trudy gone, Victor installs security cameras to spy on the kids./After pressure from Mick's Dad, Victor is forced to remove the cameras and re-instate Trudy.

The security cameras are removed and Trudy returns to the house. The gang goes back down to the cellar to find proof of the elixir, and comes face to face with something terrifying…/Alfie and Jerome admit that they were the "zombies"
