The Astronauts

The Odyssey II is a spacecraft prepped for a mission to retrieve a foreign object that can potentially save mankind. The mission goes awry when the spacecraft prematurely launches with five untrained pre-teens (and zero adult astronauts) onboard.

The kids must take the helm in their new role as astronauts when they face their first harrowing task. Meanwhile, Mission Control rushes to resolve the assumed software glitch in Matilda that caused the premature launch.

Tension on the ship rises as Elliott plants seeds of distrust about Will, whom Elliott suspects is collecting mission information for his reporter mother. Meanwhile, Samy works with Matilda's inventor to probe the AI's role in the accidental launch.

After a small toy clogs the toilet and leaves only one working bathroom, the kids band together on a chaotic mission to dislodge the toy. On Earth, tempers flare between the parents while Matilda's inventor devises a bold plan to hijack the AI.

Mission Control uploads a virus onto the Odyssey in an attempt to take control. Matilda fights back by shutting everything down. Now floating in darkness with the very real threat of death, the true vulnerabilities of the kids comes to light.

Ein kleines Loch im Schiff, das den Sauerstoffgehalt beeinträchtigt, kann nur von außen repariert werden. Martin wird somit zum ersten Kind, das einen Weltraumspaziergang wagt.

Als die Stimmung an Bord einen neuen Tiefpunkt erreicht, will Elliot die Gruppe mit mannschaftsbildenden Übungen aufmuntern. Die Kids finden eine hochentwickelte Kamera, mit der sie einen Weltraumfilm drehen wollen.

Mission Control entwickelt einen neuen Angriffsplan: Sie wollen Matilda von der Bordsteuerung abkoppeln und auf die Erdstation übertragen. Inmitten dieses Auftrags wird Samy ohne professionelle ärztliche Hilfe an Bord operiert.

Mission Control konnte die Kontrolle nicht auf die Erdstation übertragen, also müssen die Kids das Raumschiff allein steuern. Nach nur einem Trainingstag müssen sie in die Umlaufbahn der Venus eintreten, ohne in der Atmosphäre zu verbrennen.

Eine unerwartete Wendung lässt die Kids an ihren Heimreise-Plänen zweifeln. Eine unbekannte Bedrohung droht die Odyssey zu zerstören, bevor die Astronauten den nächsten Schritt machen können.
