Tiny Islands

We travel the length of the UK, from Fair Isle off the coast of Scotland in the far north, via the tiny and uninhabited Cockle Island in Northern Ireland, and down to the Isles of Scilly off the South West coast.  Oyster farmers, an island renowned for its knitted jumpers due to the special weight of the wool from the local sheep, and gardens home to around 20,000 plants, are featured.

All four nations of the UK appear in this episode as we continue our journey around the coastline, with the tiny island of Easdale in the Inner Hebrides, Northern Ireland's largest inhabited island, Rathlin, the Isles of Scilly and the Welsh island of Bardsey all making an appearance. Special Irish hares, puffins, gig racing and a place once regarded as the holiest Island in the UK are featured.

Two English islands, Flat Holm in the Bristol Channel and the island of Northey, as well as the Welsh Island of Bardsey and Eriskay in Scotland. Bardsey has a stream of visitors during the summer as pilgrims soak up its rich spiritual traditions. However, only six people call it home. The landing place for Bonnie Prince Charlie, a famous football pitch and yoga enthusiasts are also featured.

In this episode, we meet Royalty on Piel Island, run around all five inhabited islands on The Isles of Scilly, spend some quality spiritual time on Bardsey Island off the coast of Wales, and visit one of the UK's most special places - Hirta, part of the archipelago of St Kilda.
