With Aaron soon to be a father, Clara and Peter decide to start their own family but have to deal with fertility issues. Meanwhile, Glen is happily living with his new wife, Anita, though her secretive behavior starts to make him suspicious.

As Aaron tries to find his way through his new role as a father and co-parent, Glen grows increasingly suspicious of Anita's mysterious calls and absences. Peter and Clara have his ex over for dinner, which ends with Peter demanding a paternity test.

Glen meets a mysterious man in Anita's life after wondering whether she has been having an affair. Peter and Clara can't seem to move past their fertility challenges, and Aaron is torn between what he wants to do and what he needs to do.

With Aaron struggling to adapt to his new life and responsibilities, Clara and Peter arguing over their relationship, and a secret emerging from Anita's past, the Mathiesons find themselves on their own once again.

Clara and Peter try to move beyond the proposal from the night before, while Aaron loses Ella again when she decides to move back into her own flat. Glen meets with a realtor, and the reality of selling the family home starts to sink in.

Clara and Peter resume their quest to have a child, and Aaron makes some changes in order to be a bigger part of Lola's life. Meanwhile, Anita and Glen reconnect after dealing with her health issues, and the family home goes up for auction.
