Miracles of Nature

Three islands we are about to visit in today’s Miracles of Nature – Vesterlen, the Fair Isle and the Orkneys. Three islands – three unique places – three stops.

Today we visit Zimbabwe a country that lies divided by a national boundary. Zimbabwe, Zambia Once upon a time, this was a single country known as Rhodesia.

Today’s journey begins on the Canary Islands where volcanic activity created a fantastical landscape, similar to that on Mars. On Gran Canarias we will witness a traditional harvest of a crop that has been exported globally- Sugarcane. We will wrap up in the Moroccan province of Gulemin,a home to a nomadic tribe whose inseparable companions are camels.

Today, we shall venture into the Mexican seaside state of Veracruz in the south-west of the country and admire the unbelievable colors of locally grown orchids, find out how vanilla is grown and discover how brown sugar is made. To top things off. We witness one extraordinary ritual. Later, we will visit the Cayman Islands in the Caribbean-tiny islands inhabited by some remarkable animals.

Today we will venture into Austria’s Salzburg region famous for its Alps and Tauern mountains and birth place of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Then we move to the south western outpost of the old continent, to Portugal’s Algarve region. To conclude we will admire Corsica, the French island of beauty

We set off in the Seychelles. In the islands' rainforest for some remarkable fauna and flora. We will continue to Mauritius and conclude today’s episode in the very heart of Africa, where close relatives to humans, the mountain gorillas - live. The country is the Democratic Republic of Congo and the province we shall visit is South Kivu.

Today, we discover Bolivia. We begin on the high plateau of Altiplano, stopping by the world’s largest salt lake. Then descend a few thousand meters on the road of death– the world’s most dangerous road, to the Los Yungas province. Here, we encounter coca - a plant that is cherished by the natives We wrap up our journey on the shores of lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world.

Zambia, the Latvian region of Kurzeme, the Georgian provinces of Kakheti and Svaneti. They lie in Africa, Europe and on the borderline between Europe and Asia respectively. All these places are endowed with beautiful, raw nature.

Our first stop is Ethiopia in East Africa considered by many to be the cradle of humankind. Then we cross the Atlantic Ocean and meet Rastafarians from Jamaica who believe that the Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie, led his people to the Promised Land – Ethiopia. Watching in awe as the Dunn’s River Falls and Y. S. Falls tumble down, it feels like Jamaica could be a Paradise on earth.

We journey to Masurian Lake District an impressive water world in north-eastern Poland. Then move to the tropical Caribbean and explore Guantanamo bay independently separate from its link to the famous American naval base. Wrapping things up, we will return to Europe’s Mediterranean region to visit people of the Lipari Islands who continue to survive in the shade of ever smoldering volcanoes.

Today we will visit difficult places to inhabit but despite the hardships the lcoals choose to stay and shape their destiny. Bamiyan – a poverty stricken Afghan province, mercilessly tested by time. Niğde – A Turkish province with striking history. And Patagonia– the rough land at the very end of the world.

Thailand is one of the few countries in south-east Asia that has never been a European colony.Perhaps the word 'thai' meaning 'free' has something to do with it. Possibly why this country is so magical. Some 30km south of India lies Sri Lanka a country named by the Portuguese when they arrived in 1505, the island achieved independence under the name Dominion of Ceylon in 1948.

Come join us on a round the world trip. While watching Miracles of Nature we encounter some amazing natural sights, often ordinary at first sight. Let us be reminded of some truly remarkable places on earth, the most extraordinary animals that have ever evolved, and the rarest plants to have ever grown.
