Mickey appears to be a simpleton at first glance, but beneath the surface, he’s a deeply complicated person. Though he comes across as innocent and naïve, he carries the weight of past trauma. His struggles with healing often manifest in ways that seem silly to others, masking the depth of his pain.

Nasha is deeply in tune with her emotions, experiencing them fully without concern for how they appear to others. When she's angry, she’s undeniably angry, and when she's having fun, she is completely immersed. Fearless when it comes to defending her values or standing up for the people she cares about, she is especially protective of Mickey, the person she holds most dear.

Timo is a survivor. An orphan who learned to navigate life on his own, he is constantly gaming the system, finding ways to bend the rules to suit his needs. Resourceful and independent, Timo often takes on an older-brother role to Mickey.

Kenneth Marshall is a failed politician with a small, loyal following, sent off on a barely functional ship. Despite his evangelical charisma, he never quite reaches cult-leader status.

Ylfa is Kenneth’s biggest fan, always there to guide him when he wavers. With a subtle, slightly manipulative touch, she whispers or nudges him in the right direction, ensuring he stays on track. Their dynamic is one of deep affection – they are totally in love.

MEET THE CHARACTERS

The Human Printer is the most futuristic and advanced technology in the Lab. Defying gravity, it is supported by only two points, creating a striking visual. Both the exterior and much of the interior were achieved practically, featuring intricate details such as a conveyor belt, moving pistons, and programmed lighting, all contributing to its cutting-edge, immersive design.

THE LAB

The Cycler transforms the organic waste produced on the Spaceship—dead bodies, human waste, and food—into a refined, recyclable form. A portion of this is then sent to the Printer to print a human being.

The bedrooms aboard the ship feature uniform components: a bed with grey bedding, a small pull-down belted seat, shelves, a TV monitor, and identical bathroom fixtures. While the spaces are sparse, the rooms are deeply character-driven, offering a chance to highlight the few personal possessions the characters have brought on the expedition.

THE CREW QUARTERS

Perfect and untouched, with a stripped-back color palette and texture, this environment is a striking contrast to the hard and angular lines (and chaos) of the metallic Spaceship… making the invasion and colonization of such a pure place all the more impactful and dangerous.
