How Do I Cast Prime Video to My TV?
If you have a Google Chromecast, an Android TV or a Fire TV device, you can use your mobile device to "cast" Prime Video to your television.
- Turn on your TV.
- Open the Prime Video app on your Android mobile device, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch or
Fire tablet. Ensure you are signed into your Prime Video app, and are on the same
network as your connected device (Fire TV, Android TV or Chromecast).
Make sure that the Fire TV, Android TV or Chromecast device is already powered on and connected to the network. You cannot cast from the Prime Video app on iOS to Fire TV devices, and Fire Tablet onto Chromecast/Android TV.
- Select the Cast icon on your Prime Video app. You will then see a Ready to Cast screen on your TV.
- Select the device that you wish to use.
- Select a title you wish to watch. This title will then shown on the display that
the Chromecast is connected to, with the mobile device handling controls for playback,
audio tracks and subtitles.
If you wish to change subtitle settings on Chromecast, on iOS devices, you must stop Casting to that device. Then select Settings > Accessibility > Subtitles and Captioning > Style and select a style for your subtitles. You can also create a new style if you wish to use different fonts or sizes. On Android devices, while a title is being Casted, tap the three-dot menu on the screen. Select Subtitle styles and toggle on Show captions. You can also select Caption size and style options from that menu.
Note: If you have a Fire TV device or a Chromecast with Google TV, you can also use the device’s remote and use the Prime Video app on that device as well as the Casting option.
