Paying for Prime Video Subscriptions in Local Currencies

Learn more about changes to Prime Video subscription options.

Customers living in selected countries can pay for their Prime Video subscription in their local currency, rather than U.S. Dollars or Euros – while being able to access the same content on the same devices as usual.

We accept Mastercard and Visa debit and credit cards anywhere in the world, regardless of currency. We also accept the following cards for payment in local currencies:

American Express (credit): Argentina, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Hungary, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Romania, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland.

Diners Club (credit): Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru.

Naranja (credit): Argentina, Chile, Colombia.

Verve (credit and debit): Nigeria.

In Mexico, customers can now pay for their Amazon Prime membership using Amazon Gift Cards.

How to Update a Subscription Payment

You can update your subscription from the Account & Settings page.

Note: At present, you can only pay in a local currency if you have an active Prime Video subscription; and live in: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Kenya, Hungary, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Romania, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, or Vietnam; and have a payment card from a bank or other financial institution the same country. New subscribers to Prime Video or Amazon Prime will be offered subscriptions in their local currency on sign-up.
