Solve Issues on Your Fire Tablet

If you're having trouble watching Prime Video on your Fire Tablet, here are some solutions that may help.

Here are some things to try:

Note: Access to Prime Video on Fire Tablets is currently only available to customers with an Amazon account on Amazon.ca, Amazon.fr, Amazon.it, and Amazon.es. To learn more, go to About Prime Video Memberships.

Restart your device

Many streaming issues are caused by problems with your Internet connection or low available bandwidth, and are not related to the Prime Video service.

Restarting your device, Internet modem, and router can resolve most intermittent connectivity issues.

Check your device software

To make sure your Fire Tablet device software is up to date:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and then tap More or Settings.
  2. Tap Device Options, and then tap System Updates.

Clear app data

Clearing Video application data can resolve many intermittent playback issues on your Fire Tablet.

Important: Clearing data will delete any Prime Video titles downloaded to your device.

To clear app data:

On Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HDX tablets

  1. Swipe down from the top of your screen, and then tap More or Settings.
  2. Tap Applications, and then Installed Applications or Manage All Applications.
  3. Select All Applications from the drop-down menu, and then open Video.
  4. Tap Force stop, and then tap Clear Data.
  5. Restart your device and try playing the video again.

On Fire HD and Fire HDX devices

  1. Swipe down from the top of your screen, and then tap Settings.
  2. Tap Apps & Games, and then Manage All Applications.
  3. Swipe right to left to view all, and then open Video.
  4. Tap Force stop, and then tap Clear Data.
  5. Restart your device and try playing the video again.
Tip: Try this step if you're seeing an on-screen error message, including "Error 13."
