A.J. Laird

Born and raised just outside of Harrisburg, PA, A.J. has been performing on stage and screen since the age of 5. He studied theatre and music all throughout high school and college, attending the Harrisburg Arts Magnet School during his high school years and then graduating from Penn State University with a BA in Theatre Arts in 1992. Beyond acting, A.J. is also an accomplished and award winning musician and songwriter and has released several albums with bands like Strawberry Square and The Sandcarvers. In 2011, The Sandcarvers were awarded Rock Artist Of The Year by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry and he, personally, has been nominated several times for Best Male Vocalist. A.J. balances his love of filmmaking with the love of the live stage. He works as the Production Volunteer Director for the Over Our Head Players at the Sixth Street Theatre in Racine, WI. There he, and the rest of the management team, put on several productions per year - both original and previously produced, including the annual Snowdance 10 Minute Comedy Festival, which has grown to international popularity in its over 20 year existence. In 2023, A.J. received the OOHPIE Award, the organization's highest honor, for above and beyond service since he began with the group in 2016.
