Actor, Director, Writer
AJ Simmons is a British actor known for starring in the award-winning Annapurna films’ Swing Kids (2018), hit Amazon Prime series Reacher (2022) and MGM+’s From (2022). Before discovering the arts, AJ was a competitive gymnast and medalist at a national level by the age of ten. Keen with physicality but already longing for artistry, he soon turned to dancing for an outlet, of which consumed him. Breakdancing in the street ignited his foundation of raw artistic expression that led to studio training across many styles and National champion status alongside his older brother. Once landing in the theatre at the age of fifteen in the title role in a regional production of ‘Bugsy Malone’ his desire for storytelling took over and hasn’t looked back, going on to tour internationally in lead roles in Musicals including "Saturday Night Fever’ and ‘Mamma Mia’ then ultimately landing on screen. In constant search of the visceral and communicating truth, AJ has taken to writing and producing works of his own - most recently serving as an EP on the feature doc ‘What We Carry’ that premieres at the 41st Santa Barbara Internation Film Festival. As an avid poet, AJ is also currently developing his first volume to be released under the creative banner ‘SuitcaseMan’.
