Adam R. Wood

Director, Producer

From shaping music videos for global stars to earning an Emmy for pioneering storytelling, Adam R. Wood has led an impressive career, blending artistry with impactful narratives across multiple mediums. A British-born, Los Angeles-based director, producer, and editor, Wood initially made his mark in music management, working with renowned British artists Jay Sean and Craig David. In the U.S., he collaborated on projects with various artists, including Pharrell, Tyga, and Michael Jackson, as well as Jay Sean and Lil Wayne, on their Billboard #1 hit "Down." His keen eye for storytelling was further developed at top editorial houses, such as Cut & Run and Stitch, where he created standout campaigns for notable brands, including Audi, PlayStation, Activision, Call of Duty, and Hyundai. Adam's love for diverse genres has led him to work on a wide range of eclectic projects. His collaboration as editor on Re:Generation Music Project, a Grammy-backed documentary featuring top DJs and producers such as Mos Def, Erykah Badu, Nas, and Mark Ronson, each collaborating with artists from diverse musical genres. He then went on to work on the acclaimed Moments of Truth, First Love: Mario Andretti, and the award-winning Clouds Over Cuba, directed by Ben Tricklebank. Clouds Over Cuba, which chronicles the Cuban Missile Crisis, won him an Emmy and numerous accolades, including eleven Cannes Lions and the D&AD Yellow Pencil, establishing it as the most awarded U.S. digital campaign of 2013. Moving into the feature film space, Adam edited the 20th Century Fox docu-comedy Janoskians: Untold and Untrue, a Spinal Tap-style mockumentary about the rise of the popular Australian pranksters, the Janoskians. Expanding into producing and directing complex, globally resonant documentaries, Adam's film Heval tells the gripping story of British actor Michael Enright, who abandoned his Hollywood career to fight against ISIS, with Sky Studios and Curiosity Stream as partners. Upcoming projects for 2025/26 include directing, editing, and producing Hold On To Your Music, a searingly heartfelt documentary that tells the story of a child-prodigy pianist and her escape from Vienna on a Kindertransport, as one of 10,000 unaccompanied, rescued children who fled to England during the Second World War. This will be followed by The Internationalists, a documentary feature that follows volunteer soldiers from around the world as they fight in Ukraine's war against the Russian invasion. Beyond film, Adam co-hosted and produced the popular podcast Basement Banter with longtime friend and collaborator Jay Sean. The podcast featured conversations with Riz Ahmed, Jay Shetty, Sean Paul, and others, showcasing his skill for engaging storytelling in every format. With a portfolio as diverse as it is impactful, Adam R. Wood remains a distinctive voice in film, blending genre, innovation, and humanity in each of his projects.
