Beth Lane is the award-winning director, producer and writer of UnBroken which is her directorial debut. Born and raised in Chicago, she is a second-generation Holocaust survivor. After earning her BA at the University of Michigan, she trained with William Esper in New York City and received her MFA in Theater at UCLA. Beth's first professional job was for director Tony Bill in the 1980 film My Bodyguard (1980). After college she was hired at The Metropolitan Opera to perform the role of Night in the Jessye Norman and Samuel Ramey production of Bluebeard's Castle directed by David Poutney. She has performed everywhere from The Iridium Jazz club in NYC to regional theatres in the US. Beth is a keynote speaker, curates and serves on panels and juries nationwide, and hosted more than 40 episodes of her weekly Instagram Live on-camera podcast, Banter with Beth. The Weber Family Arts Foundation-founded after years of experience as an actress, dancer, singer, artist, activist and philanthropist-serves as the culmination of her creative and humanitarian work. Dedicated to combating antisemitism, bigotry and hate, WFAF drives awareness, engagement and activism through the arts, sharing stories of resilience and hope. UnBroken is the inaugural project of The Weber Family Arts Foundation.
