Originally from Hamilton, Ontario's urban community of Dundas, Robert Stutt was born in 1953. Three years after his graduation from Trent University, he began professional work with Ron and Cheryl Wagner in Nova Scotia. He additionally was an apprentice to American ballet dancer, Nikki Tilroe at Frog Print Theatre in Toronto. His longtime professional career as a puppeteer includes Fraggle Rock (1983), A Muppet Family Christmas (1987), Under the Umbrella Tree (1986) and The Big Comfy Couch (1992). These Canadian Broadcasting Corporation television specials and programs later aired on the Disney Channel and Public Broadcasting Service.
