Brett Michael Innes

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Brett Michael Innes is a bestselling author and SAFTA-winning filmmaker. Producer on The Heart is a Muscle, South Africa's submission to the 98th Academy Awards, he has had features and shorts that have premiered in competition at festivals like Berlinale, Sundance, IFFR, Tallinn Black Nights, Atlanta, IFFK, Sydney and Hollyshorts. Two of his features - Sink and Fiela se Kind - were awarded the SAFTA for Best Film and Best Screenplay in their respective years while commercial films like Khaki Fever broke streaming records for local films. His directing work in television include the Series Mania 2024 selected series Catch Me a Killer, and the second season of the Netflix 'Global Top 10' Original, Unseen.
