CODY JARRETT is a Los Angeles-based filmmaker and writer-director of TURA!, the breakout documentary hit of 2025. Narrated and executive-produced by Margaret Cho, starring John Waters, Dita Von Teese and more, TURA! is the true-life story of Asian American cinema pioneer Tura Satana, star of the Russ Meyer classic "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" as well as favorite actress of Quentin Tarantino and John Waters. TURA! received rave reviews in Deadline, the New York Times and others, including a 10/10 in Film Threat, where it won one trophy in the 2026 Picture This awards. TURA! enjoyed a theatrical release in the US via Quiver Distribution, is now available to stream on multiple platforms and continues to screen at festivals & special events worldwide. Prior to TURA!, Cody served as writer-director of SUGAR BOXX (Showtime), an homage to the Pam Grier women-in-prison films of the 1970's featuring Tura Satana, Kitten Natividad, and a cameo from director Jack Hill (FOXY BROWN, COFFY). A cult movie favorite, SUGAR BOXX has notched a stunning 32 million views since the pandemic. SUGAR BOXX was also the final film of both Tura Satana and Hollywood legend Jacqueline Scott (Steven Spielberg’s DUEL). An updated version of the film is set for a late 2026 release. Cody recently finished post on a re-imagining of his feature directorial debut, FROGMAN (aka FROG-G-G!) featuring Mary Woronov. FROGMAN was hailed as a cult classic in Japan and the US, where a festival win and series of outrageous publicity stunts (crashing the Michael Jackson trial, an unforgettable "TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO" segment) earned the film worldwide notoriety. Release is planned for fall 2026. In addition to feature films, Cody has directed and edited music videos, MMA promos, trailers, commercials and industrials. Prior to directing, Cody was a musician, actor and crew member/stunt performer on numerous feature films. When not on set, Cody can be found hand-restoring his 1960 MGA, or as a member of pop-glam band Teen Machine with actress Amanda Foreman (Felicity), Jim Bacchi (Tikiyaki Orchestra) and Johnny Cornwell (Dig). Cody is also a member of SAG and the Hollywood Editors Guild, Local 700.
