Dave Johns is an actor, stand up comedian writer and talented improviser. who played the lead role in Ken Loach's feature film 'I, Daniel Blake' for which he won the 2016 BIFA for Best Actor. 'I, Daniel Blake' won the 2016 Palme d'Or at Cannes Film Festival. And 2017 BAFTA for best British film. He is a regular guest with the Comedy Store Players on their impro show in London's West End. Dave has toured with his one man stand up show world wide. performed at the Montreal, Kilkenny, Melbourne, Edinburgh and Adelaide comedy festivals. He has appeared on The London West End stage in 'One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest', starring Christian Slater, he has also co-written the stage adaption of Stephen King's 'The Shawshank Redemption' and stage adaptation of I Daniel Blake (both published) by Broadway licensing world wide Dave has played lead roles in a number of feature length films. And has also appeared on UK Tv and on radio. He won the writer of the year award at the north east culture awards UK in 2023 Dave's stand up covers four decades where he has gain the reputation of an inventive and talented comedian.
