If you had to sum up Declan Lowney's recent career in two words, they would be Ted and Lasso. The Irish Director has been a key creative force on the global phenomenon since kick-off, Directing 10 episodes and working closely with show creator Jason Sudeikis. He served as Supervising Producer on Season 2, and stepped up to Co-Executive Producer on the much-anticipated Season 4. Along the way, Declan picked up an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy, multiple Emmy nominations for Directing, and a Directors Guild nomination for the Season 3 finale. Before all that, Declan had already helped define modern British comedy. He directed the cult classic Father Ted (the original Ted!), as well as era-defining hits like Little Britain and Cold Feet. On the big screen, he directed Steve Coogan's Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, a UK box office hit. Variety called it "A scissor-sharp comedy of ineptitude and failure." A six-time BAFTA Comedy Award nominee and two-time winner, Declan's work is known for blending sharp humor with genuine warmth... getting the laughs without dropping the emotional ball. Alongside his TV and film work, Declan has built a parallel career directing high-end comedy commercials. His long-running Warburtons bakery campaign has featured an improbably star-studded cast including Sylvester Stallone, Robert De Niro, The Muppets, George Clooney, Samuel L. Jackson, Olivia Colman-and most recently, Morgan Freeman. The Guardian called De Niro's turn his "best work in living memory"! Earlier this year Declan swapped Soccer for Golf, Directing the Season 2 finale of Owen Wilson's Apple TV comedy Stick. He now knows both sports well enough to never attempt playing them. Declan lives in Venice with his wife Jenny. They cycle everywhere.
