Denzel Whitaker

Born in Torrance, California, Denzel Whitaker is best known for his award-winning break-out performance in The Great Debaters, starring opposite Denzel Washington and Forest Whitaker. He has since built a diverse career across film and television, appearing in Marvel's global phenomenon Black Panther, Cut Throat City, The Purge TV series, Warrior, U Shoot Videos?, Nickelodeon's All That, and the modern classic Training Day. Behind the camera, Whitaker has established himself as a multifaceted creative. He has directed and edited music videos that have drawn millions of views, spent five years at Cartoon Network contributing to cult favorites The Boondocks and Black Dynamite, and developed a distinct visual style as a published fashion photographer. His latest project, Brand New, marks a defining moment in his filmmaking journey. Serving as co-writer, co-director, co-editor, and lead actor, Whitaker helped lead the film through a successful festival "World Tour," highlighted by an Audience Award for Best International Short and six additional nominations.
