Emerson MacNeil is a Canadian actress quickly establishing herself in television and film with a blend of professionalism, versatility, and grounded screen presence. She began her career in commercial work at the age of eight before transitioning to the tv and film, where her natural instincts and charisma soon earned her recurring and lead roles. Most recently, MacNeil stars as Bonnie Sheffield Sinclair in Prime Video's We Were Liars tv series adapted from E. Lockhart's bestselling novel and has now joined the cast of Sullivan's Crossing in a series regular role for Season 4 of the hit drama airing on The CW in the U.S. and CTV/Netflix in Canada. Her additional television credits include Moonshine (CBC), The Sinner (NBC/USA), and multiple guest star appearances on CBC's acclaimed sketch series This Hour Has 22 Minutes. MacNeil also starred in Fawzia Mirza's award winning feature, The Queen of My Dreams, Jackie Torren's newest feature, Baby and has also taken on leading roles in other independent projects. Trained extensively in on-camera technique, dialects, stage combat, and vocal performance, MacNeil continues to expand her range through ongoing coaching and professional development in both Canada and the U.S. She is a proud member of both ACTRA, SAG-Aftra and is represented by Sky Talent Group and Eris Talent Agency. Emerson is currently based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. In addition to her love of acting, MacNeil loves to travel, enjoys writing, singing, stage combat, swimming, horse back riding, downhill skiing, jazz dance, biking, paddling and rollerblading.
