Ewens Abid

Actor

Ewens Abid takes on the leading role of Jonathan Harker in Dracula alongside Caleb Landry Jones and Christoph Waltz, a 'lavish' and haunting reimagining of the classic vampire tale directed by award-winning filmmaker Luc Besson (Léon, The Fifth Element)(The Guardian). Harker (Abid) becomes entwined in Dracula (Landry Jones)’s timeless and tragic obsession as his fiancé Mina, is found to be the reincarnation of Dracula’s lost love, Elisabeta. Ewens’ most notable role to date is in the five-Emmy-award-winning second and final season of Andor - the highly acclaimed Star Wars series on Disney+. He appears as Tazi, a key member of the Ghorman Front, starring alongside Diego Luna, Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, and Denise Gough. Among the episodes he features in, Episode 8 - centred on the pivotal Ghorman Massacre - which became one of the highest-rated live-action Star Wars television episodes ever, debuting "in the top 10 highest rated television episodes of all time" (NME), with critics praising its scale, emotional depth, and political urgency. Widely hailed as "a generational episode of television" (Esquire), it marks a defining turning point in the origins of the Rebellion. Ewens’ role as Tazi threads through this arc, contributing to the show’s exploration of grassroots resistance, solidarity, and the human cost of Empire-era oppression. In film, Ewens recently starred in The Last Rifleman opposite Pierce Brosnan and Clémence Poésy, a moving tale of courage and memory set against the backdrop of WWII. He also appears in A24’s Tuesday, opposite Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and in À Toute Allure, directed by Lucas Bernard for Gaumont. On television, he has appeared in Crime, the adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s novel of the same name, alongside Dougray Scott and produced by Buccaneer Media (Marcella, The Burning Girls), Netflix’s Emily In Paris, and the BBC’s award-nominated Black Ops. Beyond his feature work, Ewens’ short film credits include Headhunter, directed by Spike Curtis, which won Best Action Short Film at the London Independent Film Festival. He also appeared in Last Call, a poignant short starring Tom Holland and Lindsay Duncan, which premiered at Tribeca and explores themes of grief, reconnection, and redemption.
