Jane Sowerby

Sowerby has been a working actor in film/TV for over 35 years. She studied at The American Academy Of Dramatic Arts (New York) and in the master class of the acclaimed Ivana Chubbuck Studio (Los Angeles & Vancouver B.C.) In 2011 she was selected as one of eight directors to participate in the Women In The Director's Chair. Her first 23 minute comedy short 'Jane Post' that she wrote/directed/produced/starred was nominated for 6 Leo Awards including 'Best Short', 'Best Screenwriter' & 'Best Director'. Sowerby won 'Best Performance By A Female In A Short Drama'. A powerhouse singer/songwriter she co-founded Toronto based original country/rock band ONE UGLY COWBOY. In 2023 Jane was nominated for 'Vocalist of the Year/Country Rock/Southern Rock' at the prestigious Josie Music Awards held in Nashville, Tennessee at the Grand Ole Opry House. OUC were also nominated for 'Group Of The Year'.
