Jenna Z. Alvarez is a versatile actress and classically trained dancer known for her dynamic presence across television, film, and animation. She was selected as one of ten actors for the prestigious 2024 Sony Pictures Diverse Actors Program, chosen by casting executive Amanda Richards from thousands of submissions. During the program, she cultivated meaningful relationships with casting professionals, coaches, writers, producers, directors, and show runners while training on the Sony Pictures lot in Culver City. Jenna appears as Eunyeoung in Kpops!, the directorial debut of Anderson .Paak, and stars in the thriller Unit 234 alongside Isabelle Fuhrman and Don Johnson. Expanding into voice and animation, she can be heard as Mary in the Netflix original anime Moonrise and as a Barbie doll in Barbie Mysteries on Netflix. She has also appeared in popular television series including 9-1-1 and S.W.A.T. Her performance background began at an early age with extensive training in ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, tap, and hip-hop. In addition to dance, Jenna has trained in Tae Kwon Do and continues her martial arts training at Beyond Martial Arts, bringing strong physicality, discipline, and versatility to her work on screen. Her passion for storytelling led her from the stage into digital media, television, and film, eventually earning her a place as one of the newest Mouseketeers on Disney’s Club Mickey Mouse. Jenna made her television debut on Showtime’s Golden Globe-nominated series Kidding, starring Jim Carrey, where she portrayed Havana, a quirky and upbeat teen, across two seasons. She went on to play Liberty, the confident captain of a competitive dance team, in Disney Channel’s Emmy-nominated original movie Shook, produced by Mark and Jay Duplass. Additional credits include appearances on Nickelodeon’s Danger Force and HBO Max’s Generation.
