Joachim Back

Academy award winning director Joachim Back helms from a long line of Danish artists, writers and producers. His profound appreciation of the absurd and deep understanding of the nature of human beings garnered him an Oscar for his darkly satiric film "The New Tenants" in 2010. With dozens of industry accolades, including many Cannes Lions, Joachim has been recognized by the Gunn Report as one of the top ten most awarded commercial directors of all time. Discovering his passion for film in the formative years of his childhood, Joachim dedicated his life to his craft. His unique sense of humor and highly cinematic storytelling abilities have been enjoyed and celebrated throughout the global community. He recently directed a movie, Corner Office, an epic tale of a man lost in its own space, starring Jon Hamm. As true citizen of the world, Joachim has worked and witnessed life on every continent. He resides between New York and Copenhagen with his longtime companion Mette, their two children and their dog, Coco.
