John Merriman

John Merriman is a comic actor and filmmaker based in Austin, Texas. He is known for his work in independent films including Gretchen (2006), You Hurt My Feelings (2011), Cinema Six (2012), Pit Stop (2013), Loves Her Gun (2013), Mustang Island (2017), I’ve Got Issues (2019), and Fuck My Son! (2025). Merriman also co-wrote, co-directed, and starred in the independent feature My Name Is Buttons (2002), and short films including Sleep Study (2010), which won the Audience Award for Narrative Short at the Austin Film Festival.
