Actor, Director, Producer
Jon Osbeck is a Director, Producer, and Writer who spent a good chunk of his life figuring out how to tell a compelling story in the exact amount of time it takes to sell a shovel or have an executive not fall asleep. Throughout his years of directing commercials and corporate gigs, which is the best film school in the world for figuring out how to shoot fast, keep the lighting sharp, and not panic when things go sideways, he was quietly pouring that same discipline into building his own narrative worlds. Turns out that making independent films isn't all that different; you just have to wear a few more hats. Sometimes all of them. In 2025, Osbeck put all that hard-earned on-set experience to work, serving as Producer, Director, and Co-Writer on the feature Down to the Felt (2025), followed up with producing and co-directing My Mother the Madam (2025). He also chipped in as Co-Executive Producer on Jimmy (2026), because when a trusted friend brings you a story with real heart, and one of your all-time favorite movies is It's a Wonderful Life, you say yes. At his core, Osbeck likes telling stories about regular, slightly flawed folks getting in way over their heads, usually with a good laugh and a little heartbreak along the way. Because he splits his time between producing and directing, his philosophy on set is pretty simple: protect the story, protect the budget, and make sure everybody gets to go home to their families on time. As of 2026, he is putting together a few new ones, including the feature films Springfield (Producer/Director/Co-Writer) and Dishwasher (Executive Producer), along with an episodic series about a couple making some delightfully terrible life choices called Gangster (Producer/Director).
