Equally adept at stand-up, straight theatre or television comedy, Lizzie Roper read Drama at the University of Aberystwyth, where she was a member of acting group the Wardens. On graduation she trained at the Guildford School of Acting. Much of her early career was in stand-up, notably as Lady Agatha, and the Shirley Bassey Tribute act- the over dramatic Spanish singer Rita Poonarni. She has written and performed several one woman shows including 'Peccadillo Circus', both nationally and at the Edinburgh Fringe, where she also won plaudits for her title role in 'Julie Burchill: Absolute Cult' a solo show where Lizzie played the controversial journalist. She was also on tour with Jenny Eclair and Dillie Keene in Grumpy Old Women. Lizzie made her television debut in sitcom 'The Worst Week of My Life' in 2004 and has since undertaken a variety of parts in populist dramas, a recurring role in soap opera 'Hollyoaks' and in 2015-6 as the man mad sister of Judy in comedy drama 'Boy Meets Girl' On stage she has acted in the West End in 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' with Christian Slater, 'The Libertine' with Dominic Cooper and the musical 'Betwixt'.
