Marissa Bode is a Los-Angeles-based disabled actress who has been acting since age eight in a number of plays and musicals. "Little Shop of Horrors", "The Diviners", "Peter Pan" and "Mary Poppins" are just a few notable performances. She has also trained in the arts and studied at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. In addition, Marissa's self-written, self-directed, self-produced short film "You're Adorable" was accepted into the 2021 Wisconsin Film Festival. In 2024, she made her blockbuster debut as Nessarose Thropp in John Chu’s film adaptation of Wicked, opposite established stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, making her the first disabled actress to do so. For her portrayal of Nessa, she received nominations for the prestigious SAG and NAACP awards. She has covered Harper’s Bazaar, Who What Wear, Women’s Health, and Grazia in addition to amassing over 100,000 followers for her social media activism. Soon, she will lead the highly anticipated horror film "Snare". When she's not acting or creating films, Marissa enjoys painting and cooking.
