Mark Jenkin is a filmmaker based in West Cornwall. His breakout film, Bait, hailed by Empire Magazine as "A rare find that is a truly original feature by a British director" won the Outstanding Debut BAFTA in 2020 and went on to collect 7 major international awards. Mark Kermode, writing in The Observer, described it as "One of the defining British films of the decade". His follow-up, Bosena produced and Film4 backed, Enys Men premiered at Cannes Director's Fortnight 2022 and was picked up by NEON. Sight and Sound described the film as "A revelatory experience", Tim Robey writing in the Daily Telegraph called it "Lo-fi folk horror heaven" while Peter Bradshaw in The Guardian found it, "Supremely Disquieting". His prolific, critically acclaimed short film output includes A Dog Called Discord (2023) commissioned by the BFI to open the Film on Film Festival, Vertical Shapes in a Horizontal Landscape (2018), and mid-length Bronco's House (2014).
