Mercedes Scelba-Shorte

Born to a white mother and an African American father in 1981 in New Jersey. Her mother Mary Scelba then moved her family to Valencia, California to get Mercedes out of the dangers she was facing in New Jersey. Diagnosed with Lupus a year ago, Mercedes has gone from trying furiously to hide her disease from the world to becoming a National Spokesperson for the Lupus Foundation of America. She has and will continue to take the world by storm!
