Michael Colgan's extensive TV work includes House of Guinness, The Crown, Marcella (Netflix), Say Nothing (FX), The Regime, Chernobyl (HBO), and Happy Valley, The Thick Of It (BBC). Films include Harris Dickinson's debut feature Urchin, acclaimed Belfast punk biopic Good Vibrations, Simon Beaufoy's experimental thriller This Is Not A Love Song, and legendary Irish cult movie The Eliminator. Michael made his London theatre debut alongside Helen McCrory in John Crowley's production of Pulitzer-winner How I Learned To Drive at the Donmar Warehouse. Since then he has played many leading roles on stage, including at the Old Vic, Royal Shakespeare Company, Lincoln Center Festival, and Abbey Theatre. He also writes fiction under his birth name Michael Hughes, including the award-winning novel Country, a retelling of the Iliad set in his native Northern Ireland.
